First, I’m very familiar with failure, trust me!

Second, you are misquoting me, possibly deliberately, which I have minimal tolerance for.

Here is the full one:

“You go to failure — or as close as you safely can — then take a brief rest of 3–5 deep breaths, then you do another 3–5 reps. Those will all still be challenging, effective reps. Repeat this four more times.”

That should be pretty obvious. This allows you to go to failure multiple times.
