The Truth about Most Instagram Fitness “Influencers”
A Tale of Drugs, Lies and Reality
Instagram is a plentiful field, and you may be able to reap some valuable information, but the fertilizer of choice?
It’s bull’s shit.
One of the biggest factors is drugs. Many Instagram fitness gurus are on drugs. Steroids. Anabolics. Gear. Pharmaceutic hormonal enhancement. Performance enhancing drugs. Often, they are on lots of them. This is especially men, but increasingly women as well.
Some of them talk about their usage, some of them merely don’t address it, but a shocking amount of them actively lie about this by claiming to be natural. This is often done to sell programs, plans, systems, diets, and other cookie cutter workouts that people are led to believe are exceptional as they “produced” such a fantastic physique.
As a coach, I can tell you that there are no magic workouts. Some are better than others but if it sounds revolutionary or ridiculous, it’s probably not going to give you the results you seek.
Some compete in natural bodybuilding shows when on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). If a man takes so many hormone impacting drugs when he was younger that it shuts off his natural production of testosterone and he is forced to inject it for the rest of his life…is he really natural at that point?
There’s also strong evidence that steroids can activate satellite cells around the muscle, which when donated into the muscle can cause a permanent increase in potential muscle mass.
Many of these influencers are six feet tall, 105kg and shredded to the bone the entire year round. That is not possible naturally. That’s almost as big as Arnold.
Arnold took steroids. He wasn’t natural. But he never claimed to be.
There is nothing inherently wrong with steroids. They are just a substance. It’s the lies and bullshit that go with them that are immoral.
They are just giving people false hope about what is possible. All three men below have claimed to be natural! Can you spot the one that…just might be fibbing?
